Holiday Self-care – Massage & the Holidays

The holiday season is a time of joy and celebration, but it can also be a time of stress and exhaustion.
Between shopping for gifts, attending parties, travel, and hosting family gatherings, the demands of the holidays can take a toll on our physical and mental health.
One way to combat the effects of holiday stress is through the therapeutic benefits of Massage!
During the holiday season, a Massage can provide much-needed relief from the physical and mental strain of holiday preparations and festivities. It reduces tension and stress in your body, along with improving circulation and promoting a sense of calm and relaxation.
A Massage can also have a positive impact on your mental health. Holiday stress can take a toll on our mental well-being, leading to feelings of anxiety, depression, and fatigue. By promoting the release of endorphins – the body’s natural “feel-good” chemicals – Massage can help improve mood and reduce this stress and anxiety.
Let’s remember “DOSE” for natural, non-addictive, “feel-good” chemicals:
D for Dopamine,
O for Oxytocin,
S for Serotonin, and
E for Endorphins.
Furthermore, getting a Massage during the holidays can help support our immune system and keep us healthy as we navigate through the busy and often germ-filled environments of holiday gatherings and travel.
Massage therapy has been shown to stimulate the lymphatic system, which plays a crucial role in supporting our immune function and helping our bodies eliminate toxins and waste. It has also been proven to increase our white blood cell production, which fights off infection. By boosting our immune system through Massage, we can reduce our risk of getting sick, and stay healthy during this season.
In summary, by incorporating a Massage – or two! – into our holiday self-care routine, we can support our physical and mental health, reduce stress and anxiety, boost our immune system to stay healthy and well, and ENJOY this busy time of year.
So, what better time to treat yourself or/and a loved one to the healing benefits of a Massage and make health a priority as we navigate through the hustle and bustle of the holidays?
I still have a few openings this month.  Schedule your session today – and you can take advantage of my holiday special too!
